Like most everybody else, I love to play video games when I was a kid. But around the time I was heading into high school I slowly lost interest. Years later, well into my 20s and without a clue about the current state of video games, I was meeting a friend for dinner and we planned to meet at his place first. When I arrived his houses he was playing some game called Uncharted 2…
I couldn’t believe my eyes. When I thought of video games, I thought of donkey Kong country. This was like an incredible combination of a movie and video game. Uncharted I felt like a film that you played, that you participated in. I was so captivated this one experience got me back into video games. Specifically, I really like the adventure, third person, story driven games like the Uncharted series, Batman Arkham series, The Last of Us, etc.

The Uncharted games are arguably the most somatic games that have ever been made. So it’s easy to see how they should translate well into great, Indiana Jones style adventure films. Well this trailer doesn’t quite knock it out of the park from me, I still think this has the potential to be a lot of fun.
Now that Spider-Man: No Way Home has become one of the most successful films of all time, all eyes are on Tom Holland to see if he can still be a draw without the Spidey suit. I think he just needs the right project, hopefully Uncharted is it. Take a look at the new trailer below:
What do you think of Uncharted? Let us know in the comments below!

I’ve been saying this for a while now, but I’m going to formally call it, right here: If Spider-Man: No Way Home actually works and turns out to be at least a solid movie, it is going to be the highest grossing film of all time. I was very wary about everything in this project from the beginning, and the marketing has slowly want me over. Like these cool villain-themed character posters that were just released. I always love a good poster and I hope they do a few more of these posters with the film’s other villains.
Now, I think it’s been a while since my anticipation for a film has been quite this high. Interestingly, while Marvel and Disney make The MCU Spider-Man movies, the characters film rights are still owned by Sony. It’s an unusually smart business relationship, especially in Hollywood where egos and executives without a creative bone in their body tend to fuck up lucrative deals like this. Sony knows that Marvel Studios knocks it out of the park almost every time with their films, and Marvel Studios knows that The MCU would have always felt incomplete, if Spider-Man had never been a part of it. It’s a win-win. The fans are happy, Disney and Sony get dump trucks full of money pulled up their houses. Everyone gets a piece of the pie!
However, there has been an interesting development regarding the release of this highly anticipated upcoming movie. When a new film comes out, critics and entertainment journalists are shown a film, around a few weeks before the movie hits theaters. Occasionally, A studio will have a movie on its hands so bad, that they won’t even bother with doing a press screening. Because the studio knows it doesn’t matter when the movie is see. The reviews will be so bad, that people are going to wipe their ass with the movie’s poster.
Which is why it’s so surprising that when Spider-Man: No Way Home, is screened for critics, they will only be shown 40 minutes of the nearly 2 hour and 40 minute film. Something like this has never really been done before. Which is why, in the opinIon of most movie pundits, myself included, this isn’t a reflection on the movie’s quality in anyway. In fact, most insiders believe the 40 minuet press screening it is all about how this movie is going to be way, way fucking crazier then we thought. Pretty much as soon as the film began pre-production, there were rumors abound about secret cameos (or more than cameos) from characters like Venom to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, reprising their roles as the Spider-Man of their respective universes (AKA movie universes). My guess is, forget Tobey and Andrew, there’s going to be some next level shit in this movie and Marvel is going even further than usual to keep any surprises under wraps. Tearing open the multiverse opens up a lot of possibilities.
So here’s my theory, which is just complete speculation, earlier this week Disney+ removed the original Fantastic Four movies, from 2005 and 2007, starring Chris Evans and Jessica alba, from the streaming platform. The final movie thats been officIally announced as part of Phase 4, is Fantastic Four. Marvel’s First Family will finally be joining The MCU and Jon Watts, director of all 3 MCU Spider-Man movies, will be directing FF. Preliminary work is already being done on the film and after No Way Home premieres, Watts will be diving straight into work on Fantastic Four. Per Marvel chose to remove the old fantastic four movies from Disney+ because they’ll be making some kind of cameo or debut in Spiderman far from home and the big guys at marvel don’t want audiences confusing the bold new direction they’ll be taking the characters with dog shit that has come before?
As if we didn’t already have enough Spider-Man news to discuss, Sony just dropped the trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, the sequel their mega-hit Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. I absolutely love the first film. I think it’s genuinely one of the best superhero films that we’ve seen so far.
I’ve been a little bit nervous about this project because I strongly suspect the studio’s priority will be introducing more and more Spider-Men from different alternate realities, where I’d like to see them do something much more character driven. The new trailer does give me some encouragement, though, because even though there’s clearly a multi-verse element at play in the story it focuses on the two characters I most wanted to see, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy a.k.a. Spider-Gwen a.k.a. Spider-Woman. I’m sure Sony wanted to get this trailer out to capitalize on the buzz and the anticipation for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Anyway, take a look at the teaser for yourself right here:

Here are some beautiful alternate and artist made posters for Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings
On this episode of The World’s Best Podcast, we give our straight out of the theater reaction, to latest MCU film, Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings! While not a FULL SPOILER review, a few MAJOR SPOILERS get dropped in our discussion, so listener beware! Instead of the studio, we recorded this in our car, immediately after seeing the film, which is why there’s a little background noise. However, I did want to include some Easter Eggs, interesting background info, and connections to the rest of The MCU, that just might enrich your experience when seeing Shang-Chi.
I absolutely adore this Special Edition Cover for EMPIRE Magazine’s Shang-Chi issue
One of the cool things about Shang Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, is that certain elements of the character’s history have been present in The MCU, all the way back to the first Iron Man film in 2008. None of this really counts as a spoiler, because it’s nothing that hasn’t been shown in the trailer. is nothing that you haven’t seen in the trailers. The Ten Rings is like a more mysterious, ninja HYDRA. I’m going to elaborate on how the organization was pulling the strings and making moves during some key moments in The MCU. The Ten Rings make their debut in the first MCU movie, Iron Man, in 2008. The Ten Rings were the terrorist organization that kidnapped Tony Stark at the beginning of the movie. They want him to make a weapons of mass destruction but instead Tony plans an escape by building his Mach 1 armor. With that Iron Man, and the MCU, was born.
In Iron Man 2, it’s revealed that, in a deleted scene, agents of The Ten Rings, helped Mickey Rourke’s Whiplash get past security and onto the race track, where ha attacked Tony in his race car during the Monaco Grand Prix.
Even in Ant-Man, towards the end of the film the current head of Pym Tech, Cross has finally been able to replicate his hands on Hank Pym’s shrinking technology. Cross, who’s a real sack if shit, intends to sell it to the highest bidders. Many shady buyers showed for the unveiling of the Yellowjacket, Cross’s version of the Ant-Man suit. Including Hydra, A.I.M., several agents of The Ten Rings. If you have Disney+ I’d also recommend checking out the short film All Hail The King, starring Ben Kingsley‘s character from Iron Man 3, Trevor Slattery. Not only is it a really fun little short, it also has a really cool connection to Shang Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings.

“The Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little” – Dr. Stephen Strange (This guy literally goes toe to toe with cosmic gods on the regular, so hearing fear in is voice when saying this line, tells us how completely fucked they are)
I’ll be honest, some may be surprised to hear, that I’ve had some big reservations about Spider-Man: No Way Home. After all, I’m an MCU super-fan and Tom Holland is without a doubt my favorite live action Spider-Man. When I’ve expressed my trepidation about this new movie I’ve been met with some pretty strong responses. Like this recent exchange for example, “What’s this guy’s fuckin’ problem?! Does this prick think he’s BETTER than Spider-Man?! You and little fucking website and your shitty podcast can GO FUCK YOURSELF!”. To which I replied, “Jeez Mom, that a bit much, don’t you think?”
However, in my defense, I think I had a few good reasons to be concerned. Far From Home had such a spectacular cliffhanger ending. Not only was I beyond thrilled too see J.K. Simmons return as J. Jonah Jameson, in The MCU no less, but Mysterio framing Peter for his murder, streaming the doctored footage, and revealing that Spider-Man is Peter Parker, for all the worlds to see. That is one hell of a way to end a movie!
I loved that J. Jonah Jameson was the one to get the scoop. Their decision to make Ole’ J.J., a controversial, fringe, Alex Jones-esque, online news outlet that broke the story was only the icing on the cake. I was really curious to see how this story would play out. But then as proctions was ramping up, rumors and information about No Way Home begin to trickle in. Jaimie Foxx was returning as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, then the great Alfred Molina would be appearing as Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2. They were playing the same versions of their characters that we had already seen in other Spider-Man franchises that didn’t take place in The MCU.
“Hello Peter”
The last piece of the puzzle fell into place for me when Benedict Cumberbatch signed on for a size-able role in movie as Doctor Strange. After No Way Home, the next MCU film is Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness (You don’t have to be a genius to figure out the type of thing Doctor Strange will be dealing with that movie). As the months went on and more rumors about casting continue to swirl, it was sounding more and more to me like this was essentially going to be a live action version of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Don’t get me wrong, I love Into The Spider-Verse. It’s easily one of the best superhero movies ever made Live-Action, Animated, or otherwise. That’s just not what I wanted to see from a third MCU Spider-Man movie. I was very excited to see what, I imagined was, a more grounded Spider-Man film that dealt with the fallout of the last movie. At this point I should simply learn to trust Marvel and Kevin Feige because this trailer laid my fears to rest. Not only is Peter’s identity becoming public a huge part of this upcoming film, it is the event that movies the entire story forward. It’s the catalyst for the whole movie.
I was pleasantly surprised how excited I was after watching this teaser. Now that it’s finally available for our viewing pleasure, I was really blown away by it and I thought the best way to cover it, would be a Trailer Commentary. Below, you will see the 1st trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, If you’d like, you can sync up with me and follow along, as I give my commentary and my insights on this new teaser for The MCU’s third Spider-Man movie. I have a lot of fun stuff to cover so I hope you join the ride! When rumors and bits of information about this movie were hitting the Internet, it was clear that this was going to be a film that dealt with the multiverse and some other big, sci-fi concepts. Which is all well and good, but I was afraid that they were taking this route, at the expense of the story set up at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. I gotta admit my fears were laid to rest after watching this teaser. I mean…Wow.! What a trailer! This baby was certainly worth the wait! Watch it here:
There were so many things I loved in this. The return of J. Jonah Jameson! The pumpkin bomb! Goddamn it’s good to see Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock again. I can wait to see this Peter Parker fight those tentacles. They naturally lend themselves to interesting action sequences. I could be wrong, but it seeemed like Peter sees Doc Ock in the same place we see the pumpkin bomb and hear the unmistakable laugh of Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin. I was very critical of Dafoe’s Norman Osborn in the original film, so I’m surprised by how happy i was by the trailer’s suggestion of his return.
The set up of the film is reminiscent of the much maligned “One More Day” story arc in which Aunt May is shot after Peter’s identity becomes public. He then makes a deal with the demon Mephisto to put Spider-Man’s secret identity back in the bottle in exchange for his marriage to MJ. It’s pretty fucking stupid, but I love what they’re attempting to do here. Of course, it’s always a pleasure to see Jon Faverau, the man who started it all, return as Happy Hogan. Also, l’m calling it right now. This is going to be the biggest superhero blockbuster of all time. This is going to break box office records left and right. So pull up the trailer, sync it up with mine, and let’s dive into this Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Commentary!
