It’s a good time to be a fan of Batman: The Animated Series. With the new comic book series Batman: The Adventure Continues, an in canon continuation of the series. Written by Alan Burnett and Paul Dini, 2 of the biggest creative players behind the original Animated Series, this new comic continues the classic story of the original show, while introducing new and iconic elements from Batman’s rich mythology. Besides the new comic book series, there’s some fantastic art I found online by an incredible artist.
I’ve been an artist my whole life. Even as kid I was always drawing. Though I would experiment with painting, watercolor, and other material, Sketching has always been my favorite. I love finding cool art online. Specially art featuring the kind of stuff we cover here at World’s Best Media. Cool paintings of classic scenes from movies, aspiring comic book artists displaying their version of iconic characters, hand drawn movie posters, that sort of thing. A quick word on film posters: they used to so cool. Works of art in their own right. A few movies will still put out cool posters, but most are photoshopped crap. The work of men like Drew Struzan who’s worked on some of the most iconic films of all time! I’ll post some his work below so you can see what I’m talking about.
Classic Drew Struzan posters
Whether it’s movies, comics, or TV, there are a lot of fantastic artists (amateur and professional) that put their stamp on great genre work with their art. The Batman: The Animated Series pics below definitely fall into the category of fucking amazing.
All of these incredibly beautiful pieces of art based on the characters from Batman: The Animated Series, were done by rafagrassetti . You can see more of his spectacular artwork on his Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/rafagrassetti/?hl=en right here. It’s amazing how he takes the unmistakable design of BTAS, yet still makes it his own with his slightly more realistic take on the characters. As you can see he based all of his work in the original BTAS character designs, not any of the redesigns done in Season 4 or the hour long block that was referred to as “The New Adventure of Batman/Superman”. My personal favorite is Killer Croc. He’s drawn with slightly more animalistic attributes without turning him into a full blow crocodile monster like we’ve seen in recent years. I think some of these may even be sculptures, which just shows what a monumentally talented artist Rafa Grassetti is.

Let me start off by saying something that, I think, everyone needs to hear in this crazy time we’re all going through…. WE’RE FUCKED! THE GODDAMN SHIP IS GOING DOWN AND THERE AREN’T ENOUGH FUCKING LIFE JACKETS! In the immortal words of the late, great Bill Paxton: GAME OVER, MAN! GAME OVER!
Phew! Well… now that I got that out of my system, down to business! Most of us (with the exception of a significant number of morons) are holed up inside, waiting for this shit storm to blow over before they murder their family. On a side note: this little GLOBAL PANDEMIC, is just a preview of things to come in the 21st century. There are more than a few existential threats heading our way in the coming decades. Unfortunately, just like the federal government’s abysmal preparation for Covid-19, we’re doing jack shit to prepare for global threats that will make this epidemic look like a picnic in the park (Climate Change, The Exponential Advancement of A. I., more Pandemics). To quote Ultron “When the Earth starts to settle, God throws a stone at it. And, believe me, he’s winding up.”
On that happy note, I’m sure people are doing whatever the can to pass the time. What better way to while away the hours than to binge watch some great TV series? So today I give you Paul’s Quarantine TV Binge Guide! These are my picks for the best shows available, to give you a fun escape from life’s crushing misery! I tried to offer up variety in my picks. Some of these are well known show’s that you may not have watched yet, a few series to watch with the family, and I also have some hidden gems that folks might not be as familiar with. Each series is available to stream on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, HBO (along with the HBO steaming services), or On Demand. Each of these excellent shows get my personal seal of approval and I’m sure there’s something on this list for everyone. Let’s dive in!
Daredevil: Seasons 1-3 (Available On Netflix)
Many of you may have already seen this series, but it bares repeating for those who haven’t. Daredevil is a masterpiece, plain and simple. I absolutely love The MCU, so even compared to movies like Infinity War and Endgame, Daredevil could be the best content to come out of The Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’ll even go as far as to say that the 3 seasons of Daredevil, amount to the very best live-, comic book adaptation done in any medium. Daredevil redefined superhero fight scenes with the now iconic Season 1 Hallway Fight. The “Single Take” fight scene became a staple of the show, with “The Stairway Fight” in Season 2 and “The Prison Fight” in Season 3. The incredible cast is anchored by Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Nofrio as Wilson Fisk, whose rivalry is electric. This is the most riveting and complex hero/villain dynamic since Nolan put Bale and Ledger on screen together. Though Netflix ended the series 2 years ago, the Season 3 finale works very well as a series finale. It brings the characters and the story full circle. So even if we never see a Daredevil adaptation with this phenomenal cast again, the 3 seasons of Daredevil tell one complete story that is a MUST WATCH.
If You Like That, Watch This:Jessica Jones Season 1 (Netflix)
Locke & Key: Season 1 (Netflix)
This is a great show to watch with the family, especially if you have kids over 10 years old. After a terrible personal tragedy, The Locke Family moves to their ancestral home, Key House. Relocating to a small Massachusetts town, each member of The Locke Family is looking to start over with a clean slate. Mother, Nina, her teenager children Tyler and Kinsey, little brother Bodie, and their paternal Uncle Duncan. As they try to build new lives, it becomes clear that Key House and it’s surrounding grounds are much more than an old family mansion. The Locke siblings begin to discover magical keys throughout the estate. Each key possess its own amazing and unique power. All the while dark, supernatural forces conspire to steal the keys for their own sinister means. Like I said, this is a great show to watch with the family because not only is it a great new series, I’d say the series never gets more intense or violent than any of the darker Harry Potter films. Locke & Key is definitely one of my favorite new shows of the year.
Watch This, If You Like:Stranger Things (Netflix)
The Outsider: Season 1 (HBO)
This riveting supernatural mystery thriller based on the novel by Stephen King stars Ben Mendelsohn as Det. Ralph Anderson, a small town Georgia Detective. When a young boy is found brutally murdered, all the evidence points to Terry Maitland (Jason Bateman), a beloved local teacher and baseball coach. After eyewitness, fingerprint, video, and DNA evidence all paint a damning picture of Maitland as the killer, Ralph thinks he has his man and stages a very public arrest of Terry Maitland. Case closed, right? Well, Terry is shocked and insists his innocence after his arrest. In fact, Maitland claims he was a hundred miles away at the time of the murder. He was at a hotel for a conference with dozens of witnesses. Even more baffling is the video evidence backing up Maitland’s story along with physical evidence at the hotel he was staying at. So Det. Anderson is faced with evidence that proves the suspect committed the crime AND simultaneously proves his innocence. So what the hell happened? Is Maitland innocent? and if so, who or what committed the crime? How can one man seemingly be in two places at once? As Stephen King put it, the central concept behind this story is how does a normal, intelligent, down to earth man like Ralph Anderson come to terms with the realization that the supernatural is real and the creature that committed the crimes he’s investigating isn’t human? We’ve seen this trope in hundreds of film and television shows over the years: the down the earth cop has to come to terms that monsters are real. Yet it has never been so well acted and well written as it is in The Outsider. Ben Mendelsohn, is already an excellent and versatile character actor, but his work here as Det. Ralph Anderson is among the very best of his career. The rest of the cast is fantastic as well but Mendelsohn is the stand out here. A suspenseful and atmospheric home run for HBO.
Watch This If You Like:True Detective, The X-Files
Guillermo Del Toro’s Trollhunters: Seasons 1-3 (Available On Netflix)
Here’s another TV show that you can watch as a family, especially if you have younger children, that won’t make you want to blow your fucking brains out while watching it. However, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this to very young children, I would say at least eight years old and up would be appropriate for this series. Trollhunters is a classic coming-of-age, “heroes journey” type story. The series follows high school student Jim Lake as he and his best friend Toby discover an entire hidden world of trolls and other magical creatures, secretly living alongside us. This, mostly, peaceful magical community, has their own protector called The Trollhunter. When one Trollhunter dies, the next one is magically chosen to protect the Troll and human world. The Trollhunter’s primary weapon is an amulet created by the wizard Merlin himself. It grants the wearer armor and weapons like swords and shields, as well as enhanced strength and agility. By some magical fluke, (or is it?) the amulet chooses Jim to be the first human Trollhunter and it’s not some job you can just quit. This is a real destiny type of thing. Jim, along with help from his friends both human and troll alike, has to come to terms with his responsibility as a hero and a young man. It’s colorful, funny, and adventurous enough to appeal to the kids in the family. However, the deep, well realized characters, great voice performances, rich mythology, and action/fight sequences intense and real enough to keep an adult watchers interested. With beautiful, unique animation and fantastic characters, Trollhunters is a great binge for the whole family.
If You Like That, Watch This:3 Below: Tales of Arcadia, a spinoff of Trollhunters about three alien refugees, a teenage brother and sister as well as their warrior protector, posing as human while hiding out on Earth in Arcadia, the same town that Trollhunters takes place in. Hence the “Tales of Arcadia” subtitle (Available On Netflix), Star Wars: The Clone Wars Seasons 2-7 [Season 1 sucks] (Disney+), Star Wars: Rebels Seasons 1-4 (Disney+)
Watchmen: Season 1 (HBO)
This season of television is an absolute masterpiece. I mentioned earlier in the article that I thought the Daredevil television series on Netflix was the best live action comic book adaptation of all time well, this might be the new contender. Created by show runner Damon Lindelöf, who had previously created or co-created such television series as LOST and The Leftovers, HBO’s Watchmen is basically a sequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s classic 1985 graphic novel. considering that watchmen is considered by many to be the greatest comic book or graphic novel ever written, some would consider an attempt at a sequel of any kind is sacrosanct. Which is what makes the fact that this television series is so spectacular, that much more incredible. This is a once in a lifetime creative homerun for show runner Damon Lindelöf. Season 1 of the series is so brilliant that many fans don’t even want a second season, everything was done so well in the first season, how could they possibly top it in Season 2? A creator doesn’t just pull a show like this out of their ass. They gave it their all. They made this series is if it was the last story they would ever tell in their lives. It’s that good. The fantastic cast includes standouts like the amazing Regina King and Jeremy Irons looking like he’s having the time of his life. They’re far from the only standouts in an incredible ensemble cast. The performances from the cast across the board are inspired. With multiple actors giving awards worthy performances. The story is incredibly complex and multilayered, yet every piece fits together perfectly. The mysteries are intriguing without ever being confusing. Just like the graphic novel it’s based on, when rewatching episodes of the series you pick up on new details that you missed the first time aroundottom line, the series is fucking spectacular. However, there are some things you should know going into the series. I will say that if you have not read the original graphic novel or watched Zack Snyder‘s 2009 adaptation you may be a bit lost. This is a sequel to the graphic novel first and foremost, not Snyders film. As such, certain key differences in the film and the comic book are important to understand and fully appreciate the television series. Below, I included two videos, the first gives an overview and explains the broad strokes of the original graphic novel, which you can watch right here:
This second video explains the major differences between the graphic novel and the film. For the most part, the 2009 Watchmen film is an extremely faithful adaptation except for one MAJOR change the film makes to the ending of the film. The series serves as a sequel to original graphic and multiple major plot points from the show revolve around a concept that was otherwise absent from the 2009 movie. Watch it here:

Even if it’s just a small dose, I’ll take as much RIck and Morty in my life as I can get! This week we had two pretty cool Rick and Morty videos drop. First up is the new trailer announcing that the series returns Sunday, May 3rd at 11:30pm on Adult Swim to wrap of the last episodes of Season 4. Personally, it almost didn’t matter to me what was shown in the trailer, I love this series and I’m just excited to have it back. I don’t min patiently waiting for the rest of Season 4 (as long as those pricks are hard at work on Season 5, anyway…). Check out the new trailer:
Rick and Morty is so insane that you can’t make much of a prediction about what will happen in the back half of Season 4. However, I remember when the trailer for Season 3 was released and it had a brief piece of dialogue that, even out of context, had me laughing my ass off every time I watched the trailer. To this day, it’s still one of my favorite Morty moments in the series. Here’s the Season 3 trailer, take a quick look and I’ll point out the moment that fucking kills me every time:
I LOVE the moment in the trailer when clearly some crazy shit is going while Morty and Beth are standing in the driveway to the house. Morty is already clearly furious So when a never before seen neighbor hears the ruckus next door, he pops his head over the fence and asks “Everything OK over here?”. A now ENRAGED Morty whips his head in the neighbor’s direction and screams “MIND YOU OWN GODDAMN BUSINESS, GENE!”. It’s a small moment, but I love it. The brief exchange even serves Morty’s series long character arc. That moment is actually from the Season 3 episode The Whirly Dhirly Conspiracy. With RIck off on the other side of the universe with Jerry, Summer tries to to use one of Rick’s gadgets to make her tits bigger. in classic RIck and Morty fashion, the situation goes sideways real fucking fast.
The other RIck and Morty video the we got this week actually came out before the trailer for the upcoming new episodes. The anime-style clip, which is about 5 minutes long, is stylized mix of Samurai Jack, Kill Bill, and Lone Wolf and Cub. Surprise, surprise, Rick is the Wolf and Morty is the cub. Unlike the announcement trailer, I actually think there might be a few clues in this video that may be referencing some of the show’s series long mysteries. Watch it right here and I’ll give you a couple of my theories below:
I may be reading too much into this, but just go with me here for a second. During the clip called “Samurai and Shogun”, Samurai RIck is traveling through the countryside with a Morty. Portals begin to open around them, and Samurai RIck is attacked by a group of Ninja Ricks. Samurai RIck takes them out one by one, but the leader of the Ninja Ricks is given the most attention: The One-Eyed Ninja Rick, wearing an eye patch.
In the series, Rick is only really attacked by other Ricks like this when it has something to do with The Citadel of Ricks. The first time the audience was introduced to The Citadel of Ricks was also when we first encounter “Evil Morty”. This version of Morty has seemingly achieved RIck-level intelligence and is even more ruthless than our Earth C-137 Rick. He is a mastermind hiding in plain sight. Evil Mortycontrols, or created, a robot RIck, used by Evil Morty to carry out his schemes and protect the secret that Evil Morty even exists. Evil Morty controls his robot Rick through a fake eyepatch that he wears. Evil Morty uses the eyepatch to disguise the technology underneath that he uses to control his robot Rick. One-Eyed Ninja RIck even says the reason for the fight is that they want this Morty because of some special abilities. What’s more “special” than an evil Morty? Back to Samurai and Shogun, whe Samurai Rick kills all the other Ninjas and the cuts one-eyed Ninja Rick’s head off, it seem like it took him a little too long to die. For a second, I thought he was going to be a robot or something.
I know this doesn’t all completely add up and this little mini Rick and Morty cartoon doesn’t seem like it’s in continuity. I also know there are some big holes in this theory. I’m just suggesting that the folks behind Rick and Morty might want the audience to recall some elements and ideas from previous episodes. It just seems that there are a lot of details added to this video short referencing Evil Morty and some of the other over arcing elements of the series. The eyepatch, Evil Morty, The Citadel of Ricks, etc. Anyway, I’m psyched for the rest of Season 4 of Rick and Morty!

It’s been a long time coming for, Paul “Old Man” Sr., but on this episode of the show we finally breakdown the first season of HBO’s fantastic new series The Outsider, based on the novel by Stephen King! The taut supernatural mystery/thriller starring Ben Mendelsohn recently wrapped up it’s debut season with multiple spectacular performances and excellent writing! You’ll definitely recognize the main character, Ralph Anderson, played by prolific character actor Ben Mendelsohn who has appeared in a shit load of films and TV series like, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Bloodlines on Netflix, The Dark Knight Rises, and Captain Marvel. That’s just to name a few, there are literally dozens of other great performances I could mention. However, he may have delivered one of his best performances in The Outsider. This week on “The World’s Best Podcast”, Paul Sr. and I give the listeners the rundown on coolest, biggest, and most highly anticipated movies and TV shows of 2020! Wonder Woman 1984! The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney+, Marvel’s Black Widow, The Mandalorian Season 2, and so much more! We give you everything you need to know about the hottest film & TV projects of 2020, in this cant miss episode!
On this episode, I wanted to mention several graphic novels and comics that are coming out later this year that I am hugely looking forward to, but I forgot to mention them on the show. So I thought as a nice bit of extra content for this podcast webpage, I would post my list of my most anticipated comic book/graphic novel projects coming up in 2020:
Green Lantern: Earth One Vol.2 (Release Date – 6/9)
What’s The Deal?: Part of DC‘s Earth One series, which takes classic DC characters and lets talented creators tell out of continuity stories to take our heroes in exciting and unexpected new directions. This is a sequel to Green Lantern: Earth One Vol.1, which I would describe as if Stanley Kubrick ever did a Green Lantern story. It’s pretty damn cool. I really enjoyed Vol.1 and Vol.2 looks to be even better.
DC: Death Metal (Release Date – 5/13)
What’s The Deal?: The epic sequel to Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s hit event miniseries, Dark Nights: Metal. Look for Wonder Woman and The Batman Who Laughs to play key roles in the story.
Batman/Catwoman (Release Date – Spring/Summer 2020)
What’s The Deal?: Writer Tom King and Artist Clay Mann continue the epic story of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle that Tom King began in Batman Rebirth #1. This 12 issue maxi-series has been described by King as his “Dark Knight Returns” and inspired by Grant Morrison’s excellent Batman and Robin. From a writer as talented as Tom King, those are some fantastic comparisons to make and with a spectacular art team backing him up, this is definitely a book to watch.

With the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Disney+ recently premiering, as well as a small behind the scenes video clip that just surfaced, now is the perfect to time to talk about one of my favorite supporting characters in the Star Wars Universe. Samuel L. Jackson is simply one of the coolest motherfuckers around. Nick Fury, John Shaft, Zeus in Die Hard With A Vengeance, Jules Winnfield, the list of badass characters he’s played over the goes on and on. To Star Wars fans, he’s most beloved for his role as Jedi Master, Mace Windu, one of the more popular characters from the prequel trilogy. As powerful member of The Jedi Council at the height of their power, Mace Windu personified the very best and the worst of The Jedi. The prequel trilogy is just as much about the fall of the Jedi as it is about the fall of Anakin Skywalker. Mace perfectly personifies the characteristics that led to the downfall of the Jedi. He’s a skilled warrior with a lightsaber and one of the most powerful force users in the galaxy, yet he’s shortsighted, judgmental, and arrogant.
From their first meeting, continuing throughout the prequel trilogy, Mace is distrustful and condescending towards Anakin. Mace Windu is at the heart of Anakin’s feelings of alienation and frustration with The Jedi Council. It could be argued that if Mace treated Anakin differently, his choice to walk the path towards the Dark Side may have played out differently.
When the Jedi realized that Chancellor Palpetine was actually Darth Sidious, Mace Windu and a group of Jedi are dispatched to arrest him. Chancellor Palpetine made quick work of the other Jedi, displaying his impressive lightsaber skills. Only Windu is powerful enough to challenge the Sith Lord.
The fight between the two powerful Force users ends in a stalemate, with the slight edge going towards Mace Windu. That’s when Anakin walks in. Master Windu tells Anakin that the Chancellor is too dangerous to be left alive and must be killed to preserve peace. The choice to save the Chancellor or to allow Master Windu to kill him, is one of the most important choices in the life of Anakin Skywalker and it’s the choice that ultimately leads him to become Darth Vader.
When Anakin finds Mace standing over Palpetine, on the verge of killing him, Anakin see‘s a trusted old friend who has vowed to help him save the life of his wife and child and a man attacking his mentor and has treated him with nothing but scorn his entire life. There isn’t really much of a fucking choice at all here. Given the relationship he has with these two men, it’s pretty goddamn understandable the Anakin would cut Mace’s Lightsaber hand off and allow Palpetine to Force Lightening him out the window of a 200 story building. So came the end of Mace Windu, a cool character in Star Wars lore who played an important role in Anakin Skywalker‘s transformation into Darth Vader and that was the end of his story… or so we thought!
Star Wars fans are a rabid bunch (myself included). Fans tend to jump on every aspect or detail shown a long time ago in this galaxy far, far away. Especially lightsabers. Any new lightsaber is analyzed in great detail (and why not? They’re cool as fuck). So naturally, when the prequels were in production, fans noticed that Mace Windu had a purple lightsaber. Everyone knows that it goes: blue & green= Jedi, red= Sith (some “neutral” Force users like Ashoka Tano wield white lightsaber). Of course, it was immediately noticed that Sam The Man Jackson had a PURPLE lightsaber. I, like most Star Wars fans, assumed that Sam Jackson got a purple lightsaber because purple is kind of his personal color. As well as, being the bad ass, cool, son of a bitch that he is, it isn’t very surprising that he would want some detail to be included that made him stand out from the rest of The Jedi. Now, a video has surfaced from the set of the prequel trilogy and we can find out exactly how Mace Windu’s purple lightsaber became a reality (remember that behind the scenes video clip I mentioned at the top of the article?). Check out the video below…
So, there we have it! It pretty much came down to George Lucas telling Jackson “The Jedi have blue and green lightsabers and the Sith have red ones.“. Which prompted Sam Jackson to ask “Can I have a purple one?“ With Lucas shrugging and replying “Sure. What the hell?”. I know that’s not a verbatim account, but it’s pretty much the gist of the origin of the purple lightsaber!
Look, I’ll be honest with you. There’s never been much mystery about Samuel L. Jackson‘s purple lightsaber. This video surfaced online and it seemed like a good excuse to write a Star Wars article about Samuel L. Jackson’s Mace Windu. I think he’s a really cool character with a lot of potential to be used in future stories, live action or animated.
Oh, I’m sorry? What’s that you’re asking? Didn’t he die when Anakin cut one of his hands off with a lightsaber and Sidious blasted him with Force Lightning out of a 200 story window to fall to his death? Well, technically that’s all true. But a few years ago the character was brought up to George Lucas. I’m not sure what the circumstances were, maybe somebody was pointing out that people have survived far worse in the Star Wars universe then Mace Windu’s fate. Anyway, Lucas said that as far as he and the Star Wars canon is concerned, Mace Windu somehow survived that brutal brush with death. Even though all official canon is technically decided by Disney now, they stood by Lucas’ assertion that Windu was still alive, out there, somewhere. I mean, Darth Maul got literally cut in half a fell into chasm so deep that the bottom wasn’t visible, but he got better! Why not Mace?!
The “Death” of Mace Windu & Anakin’s turn to The Darkside
Jackson himself has said, if the opportunity arises, he’d love to return to the character. So, if the stars aligned and there was an opportunity to have Samuel L. Jackson return to play an older, more banged up Mace Windu, where exactly could we see the character pop-up? To me, there are two very cool and very obvious option….
First, we must ask ourselves a few questions: What has he been doing since his apparent death? I don’t think the surviving Jedi have a very good idea of exactly how many other powerful Force users there are left in the galaxy after the rise of The Empire. Or in the case of a character like Ezra from Star Wars Rebels, he may be so far away, maybe even no longer in the same galaxy, that they can no longer sense him. That would explain why characters like Yoda, Luke, Vader, and Rey all state at various points that they are the last of The Jedi. In fact it’s possible that by the time of Luke Skywalker‘s death there could be as many three other living and powerful Jedi/Force users: Ezra Bridget, Ashoka Tano, and of course Mace Windu… (Like the piece of art above, there is a lot of cool fan art of Mace Windu if he survived Revenge of The Sith, which I’ll be including in this article).
So, if Mace Windu survived his encounter with Anakin and Palpetine, why haven’t we seen him in in any of the movies or TV shows since? I think like Obi-Wan, Yoda, and the other Jedi who survived Order 66, he most likely went into hiding. Like other survivors of The Fall of The Jedi, the events of Revenge of The Sith would have taken an enormous emotional toll on him. As one of the most senior and powerful members of The Jedi Council, he was one of the guiding hands of The Order in the years leading up to it’s destruction. Maybe he felt more personally responsible for all the pain and suffering that took place? Of course, let’s not forget his very, very serious injuries. We’ve already established that individuals, especially powerful Force users, can survive seemingly lethal injuries, but Master Windu’s physical trauma was particularly serious. It’s important to remember that physical injury can actually affect one’s ability to use The Force. Like Anakin after his duel Obi-Wan on Mustafar, despite how powerful Darth Vader was with the force, had he not suffered such horrific injuries at the hands of his former master, there’s no telling how powerful he could have become. He most likely would’ve displayed Force abilities far more impressive than any we’ve seen in the Star Wars canon, so far. Coming back to Mace, all of this adds up to a man recovering from some incredibly intense physical and emotional trauma all the while on the run from an oppressive galactic regime out to kill him.
This is probably my favorite post-Revenge of The Sith art
This would mean that he would’ve most likely stuck to the planets in The Outer Rim, at the very most edge of known space. The Outer Rim includes planets like Tantooine. Maybe there’s a scenario Mace heads to Tantooine, where an old hermit has been living out beyond The Dune Sea? Locals say he mostly keeps to him self, but trouble has a way of finding him every now and again. They say he’s some kind of wizard, goes by Ben Kenobi. Could be a cool storyline in the upcoming Obi-Wan live action series, right?
Then, there’s The Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, running around The Outer Rim with his adopted son, a small green alien with strange and powerful abilities. Who better to give Mando the 411 on The Kid than Mace Windu? Really he would fit pretty easily into either show.
I think if Samuel L. Jackson appeared on either series, it would definitely be a guest appearance, maybe a multi-episode guest starring arc. I don’t think we’d see him become a series regular on either show. Before any of you naysayers out there claim that he would never make an appearance on a TV show because he’s too big of a star, let me let me remind you that he appeared on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the first season multiple times and played a major role in the season one finale of that show. If Lucasfilm can’t get Jackson to come back, the character could always appear in a comic book or a novel or a video game. Who knows? I think most fans would really like to see him in live action, but however they choose to use the character, I think it is long past due that Mace Windu made his return to the main stage of the Star Wars Universe.

After 8 seasons and launching multiple fantastic spin-offs, like The Flash and Supergirl, The CW’s hit series ARROW has come to an end. “The Arrowverse” introduced fans to an entire universe of classic DC characters, many of which saw their live action debut on one of the “Arrowverse” series. However, let’s not forget that ARROW was the show that start it all! Over its 8 Season run, ARROW remained a consistently excellent superhero action-drama. With it’s incredible action and fight sequences, badass and compelling villains, and beloved characters, ARROW will be looked back on fondly as the series that changed superhero TV forever. On this episode of “The World’s Best Podcast”, we pay tribute and says goodby to one of my favorite shows.
I really like these sizzle reel videos that pop up on YouTube. Basically people take some of the coolest scenes and moments from beloved movies and TV shows and turn them into bad ass music videos. The MCU and the arrow verse in particular have quite a few. The video below is by far the best video tribute to Arrow that I have seen so far. It’s extremely well edited and the content is well chosen. If you’re a fan of Arrow or The Arrowverse, DO NOT miss this excellent tribute video:

Who knows? After the awesome teaser in the final episode, where we see Diggle find a certain glowing green object that has crash landed from space in front of him, perhaps will be seeing him pop up in The Flash, Supergirl, or the upcoming Superman TV series? This might be a longshot but maybe even the upcoming Green Lantern Corps series that’s coming toHBO? It would be pretty cool. After all, they did finally reveal his real name is Jon Stewart…

On this episode of The World’s Best Podcast, i talks about the upcoming final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, premiering on Disney+ next month. Since Disney bought Lucasfilm, the TV content like Star Wars: Rebels and The Mandalorian, as well as in continuity comic books have been a much better at telling amazing Star Wars tales than the films of late. Let’s be honest; when I say the movies have dropped the ball, I’m really talking about The Rise Of Skywalker. I love The Force Awakens and I really like The Last Jedi. Hell, despite all of my complaining before it was released, I ended up really digging Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Still, Lucasfilm and Disney have been putting out some spectacular Star Wars story content, like the aforementioned TV shows, the comics, books, and video games. Marvel Comics (also owned by Disney) doesn’t get enough credit for the consistently excellent Star Wars graphic novels they’ve been publishing over the last several years. Whether you loved or hated The Rise of Skywalker (I lean towards the latter, personally), in my opinion it’s still a pretty great time to be a Star Wars fan. As I mentioned a moment ago, Marvel has been consistently cranking out fantastic Star Wars comics, Jedi Fallen Order on PS4 (or Xbox, pick your poison) was a total blast, and The Mandalorian, which was one of 2019’s best series did, one hell of a job bringing us our first live-action Star Wars TV show. Which brings me to one of the subjects I’ll be covering on this episode of The World’s Best Podcast. The all new, final season of the beloved animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will premiere on Disney+ next month. In this episode, I discuss the previous seasons of the show and what we should expect going into homestretch of this highly anticipated final season.
After covering The Clone Wars, we do a deep dive into the second part of The CW’s DC Crossover Event: Crisis On Infinite Earths! The first 3 installments of the 5-Part crossover aired in December and, after the holiday hiatus, returned for the EPIC 2-Part finale last week! The final 2 hours of Crisis did not disappoint and had massive ramifications for The Arrowverse and it’s characters moving forward! On this episode I give my take on the biggest moments from Crisis, how the Crossover Event fundamentally changed The Arrowverse forever, and I speculate about the possible future directions The Arrowverse could take. In many ways, the slate has been wiped clean for all of The CW‘s DC shows. So this is the perfect jumping on point for new viewers or lapsed fans looking to return to the franchise. With Arrow having just aired it’s Series Finale earlier this week (Don’t worry. I’ll get to that in another article very soon), I think Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow have become my favorite Arrowverse shows. Either series would be a good place to jump back into The Arrowverse.

Disappointed by the lackluster finale of The Skywalker Saga, in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? Well, I have just the thing to wash that bad taste out of your mouth. Next month, Disney+ will be reviving the popular animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars for a seventh and final season. The show ran for five seasons on Cartoon Network and one additional season on Netflix. However, due to behind the scenes business deals at Lucasfilm, the creative team was never able to complete their planned seventh season. Recently, they dropped the latest trailer for this new installment of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and it looks exciting and fun as hell. The series developed a significant following over the years, so the show’s many fans were disappointed that they never got to see the final season. With the new batch of episodes premiering on Disney+, fans can finally get some closure and fill in some gaps in the character arcs of fan favorite characters like Anakin Skywalker’s pandawan Ashoka Tano, former Sith Lord Darth Maul, and of course Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Now viewers will finally be able to see the end of the story as the show’s creators intended.
Ashoka Tano, The Apprentice of Anakin Skywalker. After her mistreatment by The Jedi Council, she made the decision to leave The Jedi Order. Not a Sith, but no longer a Jedi, she’s what you might call a neutral Force user. Though no longer a Jedi Knight, she still uses her considerable Force abilities to fight for peace and justice.
The final season also promises to show audiences The Siege of Mandalore, which shares a major connection to the recent hit, live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian. The Siege was briefly shown in several flashbacks, where we see a young Din Djarin (The Mandalorian’s real name) as his parents desperately try to get him to the safety in the Umiddle of a massive battle. Young Mando is ultimately forced to watch as his mother and father are killed in the brutal massacre.
If you need another reason to check out the show, this season only takes place a short time before Revenge of The Sith. With the exception of Episode III, this will be the closest we’ve ever seen Anakin to the Darkside, before he fully crosses the line and becomes Darth Vader. At the end of the last season of The Clone Wars, Anakin’s relationship with The Jedi Council had never been more strained. When Ashoka, Anakin’s apprentice, was framed for a crime she didn’t commit, The Jedi Council presumed her guilt with little to no inquiry and hunted her down. When she was ultimately exonerated, Ashoka left The Jedi Order. Anakin, who’d maintained Ashoka’s innocence from the beginning, was disgusted by the entire ordeal and his animosity and frustration with The Jedi continued to fester.
I’m really looking forward to see how the show will ride that fine line between Anakinq a Jedi leaning towards the Darkside and the evil Darth Vader he will ultimately become. It’s one of the most interesting periods in the life of Anakin Skywalker, so it should be pretty fun to watch unfold onscreen.
Maul
Also, let’s not forget that it’s always a thrill to hear Sam Witwer return as Maul. Yes, Maul. Not Darth Maul. Just… Maul. Darth is a title given only to Sith Lords. While he’s still a very powerful force user, and hell with a light saber, he is most definitely no longer a Sith Lord. Before the events of the new season, Maul had become the Kingpin of scum and villainy in the galaxy’s underworld. He even makes a pretty cool cameo at the end of Solo: A Star Wars Story, as the boss of all bosses that Emilia Clark’s character had to report to at the end of that film. Even though it’s very unlikely that we’ll see a sequel to Solo: A Star Wars Story, it would’ve been really cool to see Maul in live action again, especially because his character is so different from his debut in The Phantom Menace. Maul went through a lot of change and development in television shows, novels, and comic books that are all official Star Wars canon. It would be pretty goddamn amazing to see Han Solo and Chewie mixing it up with Maul: Kingpin of The Galaxy! But that’s besides the point, bottom line it’s great to see that Maul will be a significant part of the new season. Of course, I’m also excited to see Maul and Ashoka face off this season, as we see teased in the trailer.
Anyway, without further ado, check out the trailer for yourself right here:
On a personal note, I feel like I should mention that I truly believe Season One is not worth your time. It was one of those shows that just took a while to get going and it really didn’t hit its stride until about halfway into Season Two. So at the very least avoid Season One of Star Wars: The Clone Wars as well as the terrible animated movie of the same name that kicked off the series.
Let me know what you guys think of the new trailer! Are you excited for the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars? Let me know in the comments below!
