ARTWORK: Ghoul Attack!

Hey Everyone,

Paul here…

All my life, I’ve loved drawing. One of the big reasons I stepped away from doing frequent podcast and article posts on World’s Best Media, was to focused on developing my skills as an artist again. It’s still a work in progress, so be gentle. Having said that, I’m going to use this platform to share what I’ve created, and please feel free to voice your critiques in the comments. Because constructive criticism really helps. The latest piece I was working on, was inspired by The Dresden Files series of urban fantasy novels, by Jim Butcher. I plan to do at least a few more pieces of art taking place in The Dresden Universe. This piece was loosely inspired by a scene from the latest book in The Dresden Files, Twelve Months. It depicts someone being ambushed and cornered in an alley, by a group of Ghouls. In The Dresden Files, Ghouls are sort of the go-to hired muscle of the supernatural world. They’re repulsive scavengers, who eat the flesh of both the living and the dead. They can appear human, but they attack in their true form. When these hideous grey skinned creatures transform, they look like a horrifying combination of a baboon and a hyena, with disturbingly long limbs. I was trying to depict the Immediate, post-transformation moment from human to ghoul. I think it came out pretty good, let me know what you think.
