Hey Everyone,
Paul here…

2011’s Trollhunter directed by Andre Ovredal is one of my favorite movies of the decade. I’m not saying it’s a masterpiece, but it is a fantastic film and a personal favorite. If you haven’t seen it, the movie is exactly what the title suggests, it’s a found footage style film about a documentary team, following around a guy who hunts trolls in Norway. Trust me, it’s way cooler than I’m making it sound and I highly recommend checking it out. What makes it so unique and so much fun is that it’s a pretty grounded, gritty movie. Which is why I was so excited to see the director’s latest film, Mortal, but I’ll get back to that in a minute.

Ovredal also directed the recent adaptation of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, which was produced by Guillermo Del Toro. Though I’m not sure if it was a massive hit, it was still a damn good film and another reason to think that Ovredal was a up-and-coming director to keep an eye on.

When I saw the trailer for Mortal a few months ago, I couldn’t wait to see it. The idea of Ovredal tackling a different piece of folklore and mythology like the Norse gods, with the sensibilities he brought to Trollhunter, sounded wonderful. You can see the trailer for Mortal yourself, right here:
So on this episode of The World’s Best Podcast, after finally getting to see this movie, I give my review of Andre Ovredal’s Mortal * starring Nat Wolff. On a side note, we also have a quick update on the next MCU project to hit the screens, WandaVision on Disney+! So, as always, thanks for listening and enjoy!
*Mortal is available to rent or own on iTunes, AmazonPrime Video, and On Demand.
